Due to the extreme demands of web development while traveling abroad, I have placed most of my energy into technical aspects of this project, and have not been able to complete my journal entry to a degree of quality that I see fit for publication.

So for now, please enjoy the captioned photographs I have posted below on this page.

We spent our first two weeks of traveling in Thailand--one week of which was spent on the warm and sunny beaches of Ko Samet island in the Gulf of Thailand. Relaxing on the sunny beaches, snorkeling through the fish-filled reefs, hiking the jungle, and eating delicious Thai food meals was a perfect introduction into travel mode.

Upon our arrival in Delhi, we stayed at the Namaskar Hotel in the popular Paragon district. Though we still appreciate our initial introduction into India, after only 4 days of staying in the vast city of Delhi, we were very ready to leave the smog, pollution, and persistent stress involved in our daily routines.

From the moment I stepped off the 747 at the Delhi airport, my experience of India has been a trip of absurdity and continual surprise.

Here, a young boy lift a basket lid to reveal a live cobra lift it's head out.

The Parmarth Niketan ashram is filled with many beautiful statues of Hindu Gods, Goddess, and depictions of traditional myth.

Here a statue of the god Shiva sits with the goddess Ganga springing from his head.

In Hinduism (which is technically not a religion, but a cultural association of myths, beliefs, and lifestyles), the Buddha is considered to be an incarnation of the god Vishnu.

Poverty and homelessness is extremely prevalent throughout all of India.
